Changing General Plot Information

You can change the plot's title, its background color, and the location of its legend. You might want to change the background color to display your data with better contrast, and you might want to reposition the legend if it obscures the plotted data.

  1. From the plots panel, click
    The plot settings panel opens.
  2. Click the Chart tab.
  3. Enter a descriptive Title for the plot. You can also show or hide the title by selecting or clearing the check box next to the field.
  4. Enter a descriptive Subtitle for the plot. You can also display or hide the subtitle by selecting or clearing the check box next to the field.
  5. Select white or silver as the Background color.
  6. From the Legend options, specify its location in the plot. You can also display or hide the legend by selecting or clearing the check box next to the field.
  7. Select Show crosshairs to display vertical and horizontal lines through the cursor when hovering over a point in the chart.
  8. Select Show data probe to display a tooltip when hovering the mouse cursor over data points in the chart.
  9. Enter a Boost threshold value to prompt the plot to activate Boost mode when at least one series contains more data points than the specified value.

    In Boost mode, the chart can display large amounts of data very quickly by imposing certain limitations and tradeoffs.   10. Close the plot settings panel.
