Co-review on Manufacturing Assembly Structure

Co-review in Assembly Definition enables actions that do not modify the data model. Actions that can modify the data model are impossible during co-review.

What Is Possible During Co-review on Manufacturing Assembly Structure

The following actions are possible during co-review as they do not modify the data model:

  • Turn-table expansion, rotation, and selection
  • Manufacturing item selection with preview in the father manufacturing assembly on turn-table
  • Design change impact

Note: For commands that are still active in co-review, the user interface on leader and observer sides is the same with and without co-review.

Turn-table Expansion

If you expand a turn-table on the leader side (left image below), it also expands on the observer side (right image below).



Turn-table Rotation and Selection

If you select and turn a turn-table on the leader side (left image below), it is also selected and turns with the same angle on the observer side (right image below).



Manufacturing Item Selection

If you select a manufacturing item on the leader side (left image below), it is also selected on the observer side (right image below).

The manufacturing item preview in the father manufacturing assembly on the turn-table also displays on both sides.



Note: The manufacturing item preview in the father manufacturing assembly on the turn-table is only available on selection.

Design Change Impact

If you select Design Change Impact, the colors are applied on the leader side (left image below) and on the observer side (right image below).

What Is Impossible During Co-review on Manufacturing Assembly Structure

During co-review, some interactions are not available, and some commands are not available and appear with a grayed icon.

Mouse Manipulation

On the leader side, double-clicking a manufacturing assembly to expand the corresponding turn-table has no effect if the selected manufacturing assembly children are not yet defined.

Dragging is possible but has no effect.

Group Manufacturing Items

The command displays on both sides, but the command icon is grayed. The command has no effect.

Edit Make/Buy or Name Attributes with Datatip

The datatip only appears on the leader side.

It is impossible to change the manufacturing assembly name, or the Make or Buy status during the co-review.



Make and Buy Commands

If you select Make or Buy Decision in the B. I. Essentials panel, the Make and Buy commands display with a grayed icon on both sides. The commands have no effect.

Update and Delete Commands

If you select Design Change Impact in the B. I. Essentials panel, the Update and Delete commands display with a grayed icon on both sides. The commands have no effect.

Turn-table Expansion

Turn-table expansion is impossible during co-review if it leads to the creation of manufacturing items.

If co-review is active, before expanding a turn-table on the leader side, the data model is checked:

  • If the selected manufacturing assembly already has children, you can expand the turn-table.
  • Otherwise, double-clicking to expand has no effect on leader side or observer side because this would lead to the creation of children manufacturing items.
