Generally, the Make/Buy/Unassigned status of a target
manufacturing assembly or manufactured part (the object on which the drop is done) does not
change after a group or a move of another manufacturing assembly or manufactured part on
it.
Impact of Group
If the status of the target assembly or part is Unassigned, the status of
the new manufacturing assembly is defined as Unassigned.
If the status of the target assembly or part is Buy, the status of the new
manufacturing assembly is defined as Make.
If the status of the target assembly is Make, the status of the new
manufacturing assembly is defined as Make.
Impact of Moving a Manufactured Part to a Manufacturing Assembly
The status of the target manufacturing assembly stays the same.
The status of dropped part depends on the target assembly status:
- If the status of the target assembly is Make, the status of
the dropped part is defined as Buy
- If the status of the target assembly is Buy or
Unassigned, the status of the dropped part is defined as
Unassigned
Impact of Moving a Manufacturing Assembly to Another Manufacturing Assembly
