IMDS Mixed Nodes Validation

The Mixed Nodes tab on the IMDS Validation report lists the nodes for parts that reference both a part and material at the same level, or materials that reference both material and substances at the same level.

IMDS does not allow mixed nodes at the same level, which means that a part cannot reference both a part and material at the same level. Similarly, a material cannot reference both material and substances at the same level.

Materials Compliance Management checks uploaded component composition after it is collapsed to the level of reporting for mixed nodes. It also checks uploaded material composition for mixed nodes.

  • Baseline: Leader
  • App-specific: Senior Compliance Engineer

To generate this report, see Generating the IMDS Validation Report and then click the Mixed Nodes tab.

Column NameDescription
Type The type of mixed node. Values are "Part" or "Material".
Name/TitleThe name of the part name or material title. Click to view its properties.
Direct Parent Part NameThe direct parent part name, if applicable. Click the part's name to view its compliance properties.
Top Level Part Name The top level part name for export. Click the part's name to view its compliance properties.
