Creating a Plant-Specific Part From an Enterprise Part BOM

You can create a plant-specific part with a BOM from an enterprise part and its BOM.

Required access roles:

  • Baseline: Author
  • App-specific: Compliance Engineer


Before you begin:

View the list of plant-specific parts. See Plant-Specific Parts.

  1. Select Actions > Create Plant-Specific BOM from Enterprise Part BOM .
  2. Enter or select values for the following fields:
    Field NameDescription
    TypeThe type to create, typically Compliance Plant Specific.
    Plant Click to select a host company location for the plant-specific part.
    Design ResponsibilityClick to change the organization having the design responsibility for the plant-specific part.
    Annual Number of EU Units ImportedThe annual number of units of the plant-specific part imported into the European Union.
    Selected Equivalent MethodSelect an option from the list.
    Descendant Parts Determines how the plant-specific BOM will be constructed.

    OptionDescription
    Reference Existing PartsCauses the plant-specific part BOM to directly reference the component parts of the enterprise part.
    Create/Reference Plant-specific PartsCreates a plant-specific part for each enterprise part component of the enterprise part BOM. These plant-specific parts are then referenced in the plant-specific part BOM. This recursive operation creates and references plant-specific parts for each level of parts in the enterprise part EBOM.

    Existing Plant-specific PartsDetermines whether existing plant-specific parts connected as plant-specific part BOM components will be modified or referenced in their existing form. This parameter is applicable only when the Descendant Parts parameter is set to "Create/Reference Plant-specific Parts".

    Modify ExistingIf the plant-specific part already exists, modify that part.
    Reference ExistingIf the plant-specific part already exists, reference it (do not modify it).
    ErrorIf the plant-specific part already exists, display an error.

  3. Click Done.
