About Automated Specifications for Connections

Automated specifications allow you to save and reuse previously defined connection properties. You can use these specifications to update connections whenever a model changes.

The Structural Model Creation and Model Assembly Design apps have several automated tools you can use to add connections to your model. However, sometimes parts or products are later added, removed, or modified. These changes can have an effect on the number or placement of the connections as well as their supports. Therefore, you might need to repeat the procedure you originally used to add the connections to the model. If you can save the specifications used in the original procedure, you can reuse them to regenerate the connections.

When you save an automated specification during a connection creation procedure, the specification is found in the tree under the Automated specification set under the finite element node.
