The voxel mesher enables direct meshing of any geometry, and allows you to combine multiple bodies into a single mesh part, and into mesh groups. For each group in the voxel mesher domain, you can specify whether the geometry is a closed volume or a sheet (shell-like). For sheet entries, you can apply a virtual thickness. The voxel mesh uses this virtual thickness value when computing the volume fractions for each element. Distinguishing between volumes and sheets improves the accuracy of the voxel mesh. In addition, you can specify the priority given to a voxel domain group. When you mesh the model, any elements that span two or more groups are assigned to the group with the highest priority. Once you create the voxel domain, you can select it as a support when creating a voxel mesh. The meshed result includes a single mesh part with the voxel groups that correspond to the rows in the Voxel Domain dialog box. |
