Defining Voxel Domains

You can define a voxel mesh domain to be used as a support when creating voxel meshes in the Mesh Creation app.

The power of the voxel domain lies in the ability to group and prioritize multiple bodies for voxel meshing.

About Voxel Domains
  1. From the Abstractions section of the action bar, click Voxel Domain .
  2. Optional: Enter a descriptive Name.
  3. Click + to add one or more groups to the domain.
    1. Enter a descriptive Name for the part.
    2. Select one or more geometric or tessellated bodies, and click OK.
The voxel domain groups are listed in a table.
  4. Optional: To consider sheet geometry for a group in the voxel domain definition, select Sheet Geometry in the appropriate row of the table.
  5. Optional: For groups that you declared as sheet geometry, enter the Virtual Thickness value.
  6. To assign priority to a group, select a numerical priority from the Priority column.

When the model is meshed, any element that spans two or more geometric boundaries is assigned to the group with highest priority. For example, if there are three groups in a voxel mesh definition, and you select a Priority of 2 for one of them, that group is assigned second priority.

  7. To edit a group, right-click the row and select Edit from the context menu.
You can rename the group and reassign the support.
  8. To delete a group, select Delete from the context menu.

You can now use the voxel domain when you create voxel meshes.
