Resolving Weld Curve Seeding Issues

You can use seeding resolution to correct problematic weld meshes.

It is sometimes difficult to get consistent mesh seeding on the two supports when you need to define compatible meshes for a line fastener. For example, inconsistent seeding can happen when the mesh densities on the connected parts differ. In such cases, you can use the seeding resolution tool.

Before you begin: You must have one or more line fasteners defined to use compatible meshes.

Locate Line Fastener Seeding Issues

  1. From the Connections section of the action bar, click Connection Manager .
  2. In the Connection Manager, click the filter icon in the Type column header.
  3. Uncheck all types except Line Fastener.
  4. Click to show the additional columns, and locate the Seeding column.
  5. From the context menu, select Seeding resolution on all line fasteners.
    The icon displays in the Seeding column for any line fasteners that have compatibility seeding issues with weld curve projections.

Resolve Line Fastener Seeding Issues

  1. From the Connections section of the action bar, click Seeding Resolution .
    The tool posts a warning that the procedure might modify line fastener and surface meshes.
  2. Click Yes in the Confirmation window.
    The app modifies the mesh seeding near the weld and remeshes the parts.

The line fastener now uses a compatible mesh.

Important: This tool does not change the mesh specifications. If the parts are remeshed or the fastener geometry is edited, you need to repeat this procedure to resolve any seeding issues.
