Removing a Phantom Part

You can remove a phantom part from an MBOM. Both released and unreleased phantom parts can be removed.


Before you begin: Access a part Bill of Materials page in MBOM Plant-Specific edit mode (Current & Pending view). See Part Bill of Materials.

  1. Select a manufacturing part from which the phantom part will be removed.
  2. From the page Actions menu or toolbar, click Remove Phantom.
    The Search page opens, where you can select the MCO that will implement the change. MCO search results include all MCOs in the context plant that are in the Create state, using the MCO Standard policy and with a start date greater than or equal to the associated MCO start date.

If the phantom part in the selected MBOM is not yet released, the phantom part’s MBOM connections are deleted. Parts connected in the phantom part’s MBOM are connected back to the assembly’s MBOM.

If the phantom part in the selected MBOM is released, the MCO search page opens, where you can select the MCO that will implement the change. MCO search results include all MCOs in the context plant that are in the Create state, using the MCO Standard policy and with a start date greater than or equal to the associated MCO start date. The MBOM connections will be effected out by the selected MCO.
