Importing and Exporting Quality Criteria

You can import customized or predefined quality criteria to ensure adherence to a standard, and you can export any quality criteria you edit to a file on your machine.

Once imported, the active criteria in the quality report correspond only to those criteria defined in the imported file.

Import the Quality Criteria

You can import customized or predefined quality criteria from predefined data sets.

  1. From the Check section of the action bar, click Quality Analysis .

    Tip: You can also right-click the mesh in the tree and select Analyze to analyze the mesh quality of a single mesh. Alternatively, you can select Quality Analysis from the context menu in the Mesh Part Manager.

    The Quality Report panel appears and displays tabs containing information about the meshes in the finite element model representation.
  2. Click Criteria Editor.
    The Quality Criteria editor opens and allows you to search the element connectivity types in your model and view formulas for the selected criteria.
  3. Click Import Criteria.
  4. If you want to import a default criteria set that is packaged with the product, select a template from the From template options.

    You cannot modify any of the default criteria sets. For example, when you run a physics simulation, the Abaqus solver uses the Abaqus_Element_Checks criteria set.

  5. If you want to import a template from a database, click From database .

    This option imports a custom criteria list into the database. Criteria sets that you previously exported are also available.

  6. Click OK.
    The criteria set becomes available in the quality report.

Export the Quality Criteria

You can export the current settings or any changes you made to the quality criteria.

Export quality criteria to save your custom settings for a later session. Exporting quality criteria is an efficient way to set standards for your team.

  1. From the Check section of the action bar, click Quality Analysis .

    Tip: You can also right-click the mesh in the tree and select Analyze to analyze the mesh quality of a single mesh. Alternatively, you can select Quality Analysis from the context menu in the Mesh Part Manager.

  2. Click Criteria Editor.
    The Quality Criteria editor opens and allows you to search the element connectivity types in your model and view formulas for the selected criteria.
  3. To export the criteria to the database, click Export Criteria .
  4. Choose a name for the criteria set, and click OK.
  5. Click OK to apply the criteria to the quality report.
