Editing Node and Element Numbering
  1. Choose the support for which you want to specify node and element numbering and start the Numbering tool. There are two methods you can use to perform this step:
    • From the Mesh section of the action bar, click Numbering , then click the support (global, mesh part, or group) from the tree.
    • Right-click the support for which you want to define node and element numbering, then choose Numbering from the context menu that appears.
    The Numbering dialog box appears.
  2. Choose the support (global, mesh part, or group) from the tree for which you want to assign node and element numbering.
  3. If you want to use a lower bound of 1 for both nodes and elements, click Initialize values.

The Nodes upper bound value and Elements upper bound value are updated with a high enough value to accommodate the number of nodes and elements in your selection.

The bounding values are listed in the Information section.
  4. If you want to specify upper and lower bound values for node and elements manually, enter the Lower bound value and Upper bound value for both Nodes and Elements.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Optional: Once you assign numbering for the FEM and mesh parts or groups, you can change the numbering for nodes and elements by right-clicking them and selecting Mesh Part Numbering from the list that appears.
