Changing the Vector Display in Symbol Plots

You can adjust the length of vector and tensor arrows for all symbol plots in your session. Arrows can be a constant length throughout symbol plots, or you can display the arrows so that the longer arrows correspond to larger values.

  1. From the Display section of the action bar, click Result Options .
  2. Select the Miscellaneous tab of the Result Options dialog box if it is not already selected.
  3. From the Maximum vector length options, select one of the following to specify the length of the arrow representing the largest vector or tensor value:
    OptionDescription
    Percent of model size Drag the slider to display vector or tensor arrows at a length between 1% and 200% of the model size.
    Absolute sizeEnter a value to display vector arrows using a size that is not related to the model size.
  4. Optional: Select Use constant-length arrows to display all symbol plot arrows with a single, constant length that does not depend on the values in the plot.
  5. Click Close.
