Comparing Multiple Simulations

You can compare any two simulations with computed results. The simulations should be models of a similar nature for the comparison to be meaningful.

Before you begin: Each simulation must have at least one plot (other than the deformed/undeformed plot).

  1. Under Me > Preferences > General > Display, Widget layout tab, clear the following check boxes:
    • Create widget in new tab
    • Create tab in maximized state
    • Create tab in with extracted action bar
Newly opened simulations will now automatically tile horizontally or vertically within the same tab.
  2. Open the first simulation, switch to Results, and activate a plot that can be animated.
  3. Start the animation from the compass or the action bar; stop it after a short time to ensure that the animation runs as expected.
  4. Repeat Steps 2 and 3 for additional simulations.
  5. Ensure that all simulations are opened in same tab and are tiled side by side.
  6. Animate one simulation, and open the synchronization panel from the animation player.
The current simulation is checked in the Synchronization dialog box.
  7. Start the animation for additional simulations by selecting their check boxes.
  8. Select Synchronize selected simulations to activate or deactivate synchronization for all simulations.

When Synchronize selected simulations is on, all simulations that you designated as synchronized respond identically to all animation commands (pause, end, beginning).
