Synchronization of Model Plots During Animation

For both native and imported simulations, animation playback synchronizes the animation of multiple model plots between tiled windows within the same tab.

If you have multiple windows tiled horizontally or vertically, you can compare the animation of two or more simulations side by side. Animate the model in any window independently, or synchronize the animations of models between several or all windows within the same tab.

Use the synchronization mode of the animation player to synchronize animations of results between multiple windows tiled within the same tab. The Synchronization dialog box allows you to select the analysis cases you want to synchronize:

Animation playback synchronizes the animation of the model plot and the X-Y plot.

When you play an animation, the model plot and X-Y plot change with successive steps and frames. These changes are synchronized throughout the animation. In the X-Y plot, a red vertical line indicates the playback position.

The Activate cursor along X axis (Probe tool) in the X-Y plot is disabled when you run the animation. It is enabled again once you close the Experience Player.

In addition, X-Y plots display the following synchronization behaviors:

• If you pause the animation, you can drag the animation line and the plot and slider update accordingly.
• If you select a frame in the Plots dialog box, the animation line moves to that frame value.
• If you close the animation player dialog box, the animation line in the X-Y plot disappears.
