Aligning, Rotating, and Distributing the Resource

You can align, rotate, and distribute the resources.

Align a Resource

You can align the resource by aligning the resource to a reference that is an edge.

  1. Select the products to align.

    By default, the Orthogonal view, Align by Top View is selected for aligning option.

  2. Click Align .

    The Align options appear. You can select right, left, top, and center aligning options. The objects align to the selected resources.

    • The Left Align , Right Align ,Bottom Align , and Top Align :
      • The left, right, bottom, and top aligned resources are transferred to the edge (red) reference respectively.
      • The alternative solutions are given by visual cue.
      • The selected align option is highlighted till other alignment option is selected.
    • Middle Align: , and Center Align:
      • The list of resources are transferred to the middle and center of the edge reference.

  3. Select Reference and select an edge of any product.
    All the products are aligned to the selected edge.
  4. Click Visual Cue.
  5. Click OK to save and close.

    Note: If the aligning view is:
    • Gray, the view is unavailable.
    • Orange, the view is selected.
    • Blue, the view is selectable.

Rotate a Resource

You can rotate a resource to match the orientation of the reference. Rotating is to orient the resources.

  1. Select the product to rotate.
  2. Click Rotate.
  3. Select U Axis or V Axis in Rotate option.
    The products orient to the reference.
    • The list of resources to align is rotated to match the selected orientation.
    • The alternate solutions are provided by Visual Cue.
    • The selected align option is highlighted till other alignment option is selected.
  4. Click Visual Cue to get an alternate solution.
    You can select different views and rotate options. The object rotates according to the type of reference selected.

Distribute a Resource

You can distribute the resource horizontally or vertically, with or without offset. Distributing a resource enables you to line up a prespecified number of resources and preset intervals.

  1. Select the products to distribute.
  2. Select the orthogonal view.
  3. Click Distribute.
  4. Click U-Axis or V-Axis.
    All the products align and are spaced equally:
    • If you have selected U-Axis, the products are aligned horizontally.
    • If you have selected V-Axis, the products are aligned vertically.
    • The resources are spaced equally in horizontal or vertical direction.
    • The distance between the resources is calculated by the total distance between the resources at the end (either in horizontal or vertical). Then divided by the number of resources to be distributed.
  5. Select the Offset check box in Distribute option, enter the value, and choose the direction to distribute.
    The resources are spaced with an offset distance in the selected direction.

  6. Click Reference.
    All the products are spaced uniformly to the reference object.
  7. Click OK .
    The dialog box closes. The resource position is updated.
