Managing Attachments

You can use Manage Attachments to manage your created attachments.

Access Manage Attachments

You can manage created attachments using Manage Attachments.

Before you begin: Open data that has attachments.
From the Layout tools section of the action bar, click Manage Attachments .
The Manage Attachments panel appears and lists the features of the selected part and its children.

The panel consists of four columns:

  • Name: Lists attachments' names.
  • Child: Lists child names of the attachments.
  • Parent: Lists parent names of the attachments.
  • Activation Status: Lists the statuses of the attachments.

The panel contains four selections:

  • : Remove.
  • : Edit.
  • : Activate/Deactivate.
  • : Update.

Removing Attachments

You can remove attachments related to the selected row or rows in the list.

Before you begin: Open data that has attachments.
  1. Click from within the Manage Attachments panel.
  2. Select the object whose attachments you want to see. For example, select a mechanism.
    The panel lists the mechanism's attachments.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • To only see a list of attachments, review the attachment list without taking any additional action.
    • To remove an attachment, select one or more attachments and click Remove.
    The attachment deletes per your request.

Editing Attachments Offset

You can modify attachment offsets of the selected row in the list.

Before you begin: Open data that has attachments.
  1. Click from within the Manage Attachments panel.
  2. Click Show / Hide Panel .
    The panel shows the child and its port and the parent and its port.
  3. Using the panel to refine your selections in the work area, select required options for the attachment, then click Accept .
    The attachment changes per your specifications.

Activating or Deactivating Attachments

You can activate or deactivate attachments related to the selected row or rows in the list.

Before you begin: Open data that has attachments.
Click from within the Manage Attachments panel.

Updating Attachments

You can update all listed attachments if outdated.

Before you begin: Open data that has attachments.
Click from within the Manage Attachments panel.
Note: This selection disables if all attachments are up-to-date.
