- Click Create Pattern

The Tools Palette appears.

- From the objects from which you want to generate a pattern select the tree or 3D area, and click Finish
.The Create Patterns dialog box appears. It shows default number of items (4) to be created in your pattern and the default item offset (1000mm). In addition, an axis system appears at the base center
of the object selected.  - To modify the information in the Create Patterns dialog box, you can:
- Modify the Item Count, which controls the number of objects in your pattern.
- Modify the Item Offset, which controls the space between the objects in your pattern.
- From the Stop on clash check box to stop you select creating new instances if there is an instance causes a collision.
- Select the Reverse Direction check box to shift the direction in which the pattern is created.
- If you are creating a pattern from one object, select either the Create Instances or Create References check box. Create Instances (default) creates new instances of the objects in your patterns; each has a unique reference. Create References creates the pattern from references of the initially selected objects.
- From the axis system, select the direction for example, the Y Axis.
A pattern is created along the axis selected.  Note:
The creation and distribution of instances is managed by the
number of objects selected with Create Pattern
. If you select one object, then
instance creation occurs first and the distribution follows. If you have
selected multiple objects, then only distribution occurs.
