Declaration Editor for IPC 1752

When you choose to create or edit a material declaration, the Materials Compliance Supplier Portal opens the Delcaration Editor dialog box. For a new Material Declaration, the app fills in all known requestor and supplier information, and requestor and supplier part information. You can add or edit details as needed.

Your Business Administrator determines if the declaration editor uses Class A, Class D, or both declaration classes. Your Business Administrator can also configure Materials Compliance Supplier Portal to automatically save your edits so that if anything occurs during your session, your will not lose your work.

To access this page:

  1. View the Requested Parts, Parts Accepted or Parts Rejected list.
  2. Click Create or View / Edit .

The top part of the page lists requestor, supplier, and manufacturing information. To load the declarations, choose an option from the Choose Declaration Class list. You an choose A, C, or D, or the combination of A & C or A & D.

Company NameThe name of the host company requesting the part compliance data.

Request DateThe date the request was made.

Contact NameThe contact person for this company. This person is defined as the IPC 1752 Contact.

Supplier Information:
Company NameThe name of the supplier submitting the compliance data.
Company IDThis company's ID.
Supplier AuthorizerName of the person in the supplier organization who has the Compliance Executive Contact role.
Authorizer TitleThe title for the above person.
Authorizer PhoneThe phone number for the above person.
Authorizer EmailThe email address for the above person.
Contact TitleThe title for the above person.
Contact NameThe name of the person creating the Material Declaration
Contact PhoneThe phone number for the above person.

Requester Part:
NameName of the Enterprise Part.
RevisionRevision of the Enterprise Part.

Supplier Part Information:
NameName of the Manufacturer Equivalent part.
Revision LevelThe External Revision Level for the part in Materials Compliance Management.
Revision DateThe External Revision Date for the part in Materials Compliance Management.
Reference WeightThe reference weight of the Manufacturer Equivalent Part. This field uses the Weight/Mass attribute of the Manufacturer Equivalent Part for the units. (Filled in from the default value of the requested part.)
UOMThe Unit of Measure for the part in Materials Compliance Management.
DescriptionDescription of the Manufacturer Equivalent Part.
Manufacturing Information:

Your Business Administrator defines whether or not this section displays in the dialog box.

Component Terminal Plating/Surface FinishThe component terminal plating/surface finish.
Maximum Temperature Rating (Celsius) The maximum re-flow temperature rating in degrees Celsius.
Termination Base Alloy The base alloy used in the termination material.
Max Cycles at Max Temperature The maximum cycles tested at the maximum temperature for the part.
Max Time at Max Temperature The maximum amount of time this part was tested at the maximum temperature.

Class A Declaration Editor

Field NameDescription
Compliance DefinitionLists the compliance definition the part must comply with.
Compliance StatementSelect the statement that describes the compliance of this part.
ExemptionsIf applicable, select an exemption statement from the list for this part.

Class C Declaration Editor

The Class C declaration editor lists substances and substance classifications for the Part, and the related threshold information.

Each row shows this information to identify the threshold details:

Column NameDescription
Substance or Substance ClassificationName of the substance or substance classification.
CAS NumberIf the threshold is defined at the substance level, shows the CAS number of the substance. If the threshold is defined at the substance classification level, shows a blank value.
Threshold LevelShows Material, Component, or Part.
Reportable ApplicationDescription of the compliance application.
DescriptionShows the description of the threshold. For example: 0.1 mass% of total Cr+6 in homogenous material

For each substance or substance classification, you can edit these columns:

Column NameDescription
Above ThresholdTrue or False to indicate if the amount for this substance/substance classification exceeds the threshold. You can only enter values in the remaining columns if this column is set to True.

Click the column heading to sort by True or False.

AmountFor a Part or Component: enter the amount above the threshold.
Unit of MeasureThe unit of measure for the amount (mg, g, kg, ppm, or %).
ConcentrationFor a Material: enter the percentage value above the threshold.
ExemptionsSelect any applicable exemptions from the list.

Class D Declaration Editor: Reported Part BOM

The Reported Part BOM lists all components and materials included in the requested part. Use the BOM to build the structure of components, materials, and substances for the requested part. At the top level, you can add a component or material. However, the children of the top level must be all components or all materials. You cannot mix components and materials at the same level.

When editing or creating items, many of the columns provide a list of accepted values for that column.

Tip: Click to expand the Reported Part BOM to the full window size.

To add a component:

  1. In the tree, click the name of the requested part.
  2. Click Add Component.
  3. Enter values for these columns:
    • Component Name
    • Weight
    • Weight Unit
    • Quantity
    • Unit of Measure
  4. Click Apply.

To add a material:

  1. In the tree, click the name of the parent component for this material.
  2. Click Add Material.
  3. Enter values for these columns:
    • Material Name
    • Weight
    • Unit
  4. Click Apply.

To add a substance:

  1. In the tree, click the name of the parent material for this substance.
  2. Click Add Substance.
  3. Enter values for these columns:
    • Substance Classification
    • CAS Number: Choose from the list, or it is automatically entered when you choose a Substance Name.
    • Substance Name: Choose from the list, or it is automatically entered when you choose a CAS Number. Only lists substances within the selected Substance Classification.
    • Amount
    • Unit of Measure
    • Application Code
  4. Click Apply.

To edit a component, material, or substance:

  1. In the tree, click the parent of the item you want to edit. The app shows all children of that item in the table.
  2. Edit any column as required.
  3. Click Apply.

To delete a component, material, or substance:

  1. In the tree, click the parent of the item you want to delete. The app shows all children of that item in the table.
  2. Click the item you want to delete.
  3. Click Delete.
  4. Click Yes to confirm.

If you delete a component, all subcomponents, materials, and substances of that component are also deleted. If you delete a material, all substances of that material area also deleted.

Actions for the Material Declaration Editor

Button NameDescription
SaveSaves the Material Declaration. Does not validate or submit the Material Declaration.
ValidateValidates the complete declaration data. For more information, see IPC 1752 Material Declaration Validation. Does not submit the Material Declaration.

Only the data displayed in the form is validated. That is, if you entered Class C data, and then switched to Class D and entered data, only the Class D data is validated.

SubmitPerforms all validations described in IPC 1752 Material Declaration Validation, then submits the Material Declaration.
