Filling Out the IPC 1752 Form

A supplier first fills out the IPC 1752 form before it can be exported.

  1. Open a blank IPC 1752 Form and proceed to page 2 of the form.
  2. Click Import Data.
  3. Locate and select the XML file you want to import.
When the selected XML file is imported into the IPC 1752 form, the proper reporting class will be pre-populated.
  4. On page 1 of the IPC 1752 Form, ensure that the following fields are populated correctly.

    Field NameDescription
    Declaration ClassClass 1 through 6.
Requester InformationDo not change this Requestor Information. The Requestor information contains the customer's company name and contact Information.
Supplier InformationYou can modify this section EXCEPT for the Requestor Item Number and Mfg Item Number fields.

  5. Enter the supplier information.

    Field NameDescription
Company NameThe supplier's company name. (This is populated since it is stored in the customer's database. If the name is in error, contact the customer's contact.)
Company Unique IDIf this field is in error contact the customer's contact.
Unique IDS AuthorityThe unique IDS authority.
Response DateThe date on which you are responding. Select today's date.
Response Document IDYou can enter a unique number identifier used to track this material declaration.
    Contact NameYour full name.
Title ContactYour employee title or role.
    Phone ContactYour phone number.
    Email ContactYour email address.
Authorized RepresentativeYour company's highest authority responsible for environmental compliance. Enter the full name.
Title ContactThe authorized representative’s employee title or role.
    Phone ContactThe phone number.
    Email ContactThe email address.
Supplier Comments or URL for Additional InformationAny comment from the supplier.
Requester Item NumberThe requester (Compliance Engineer's) item number.
Mfr Item NumberThe manufacturer's item number.
Mfr Item NameThe manufacturer's item name.
Effective DateThe effective date for the item.
VersionThe version, if any, for the item.
    Manufacturing SiteThe manufacturing location.
WeightRequired. Enter the total product weight of the part in the unit of measure selected in the UOM and Unit Type field below.
    UOMGrams or kilograms.
Unit TypeThe type of unit. For example, "Each".
Alternate RecommendationAlternative part number or product to use that meets RoHS compliance.
Alternate Mfr Item NumberAlternate part number to use instead of the part number pre-populated by the Materials Compliance Supplier Portal.
Alternate Mfr Item NameAn alternate manufacturer item name.
Alternate Effective DateAn alternate effective date.
Alternate Item CommentsAn alternate comment about the item.

  6. Enter Manufacturing Process Information.

The Manufacturing Process Information details of the form provide optional information about the items described on the declaration form. This is useful information to avoid damage to parts that are unable to withstand certain assembly process temperatures and/or humidity exposure.

Review Material Declaration standard IPC 1752-3 (IPC-1752-3.pdf) available from the IPC website (www.ipc.org) for more information about the manufacturing process information.

    Field NameDescription
Terminal Plating / Grid Array MaterialSelect the plating on the terminals or material used as a termination for the electronic items from the list.

If you choose "Other," you must indicate the material or substance used as a terminal plating or material for the Ball/land of a BGA/LGA.

Terminal Base AlloyThe terminal base alloy used for the components. Leads can be defined in the second field of the Manufacturing Process Information section.
J-STD-020 MSL RatingEnter the J-STD-020 number designation to define the time out of the protective package based on the moisture absorption potential.

Relates to the possibility that the components or items might be susceptible to absorption of moisture.

    (MSL is Moisture Sensitivity Level)

Peak Process Body TemperatureEnter the peak temperature in degrees Celsius that should not be exceeded.
Max Time at Peak TemperatureEnter the time in seconds that the item can endure at the temperature indicated in the previous field without degradation of function or reliability beyond applicable specifications.
Number of Reflow CyclesSelect a number from 1 to 10 from the list to specify the maximum number of cycles that the component or item can withstand at the temperature, time, and MSL rating indicated in the previous three fields.

This value is an indication of a number of maximum peak cycles, each one after another, that can be used for interpretation into time at temperature, allowing for flat (extended) peak temperature exposure.

  7. Proceed to page 2.
  8. On page 2 check the Declration Type. If the customer pre-defined the value, do NOT change it.

If the Declaration Type is blank, select an option such as "Simplified" to force the RoHS Declaration Statement to be populated into the form. Complete the fields as follows:

    Field NameDescription
RoHS DeclarationRequired. From the list, select the declaration that applies to the part:

Item(s) not containing RoHS restricted substances per the definition aboveRoHS Compliant
Item(s) containing RoHS restricted substances above the limits and is not under exemptionNOT RoHS Compliant
Item(s) not containing RoHS restricted substances per the definition above except lead in solder and any other selected exemption(s)RoHS Compliant with exemption
Item(s) not containing RoHS restricted substances per the definition above except for selected exemptions RoHS Compliant with exemption
Item(s) that are obsolete, no information is availableNothing: results in an import error
