Creating, Renaming, and Removing Libraries

Libraries allows you to organize your Corpus Manager by grouping sources and to collaborate on these sources with other 3DEXPERIENCE platform users.

This task shows you how to:

Create a Library

  1. In Edit mode, select Add content 3 > À Library
    The Create a new Library modal box opens.
  2. In the Library name field, enter a name for your Library.

    You can enter up to 100 characters.

  3. Optional: Click Add members and do all of the following for each user you want to add as a member:
    1. In the Email or username field, enter the 3DEXPERIENCE ID username or email address of the user you want to add.

      This user must be on the same platform as you.

    2. From the Author list, select the role you want to give to this user.

      For more information about the available roles, see About Library Member Roles.

    3. Click 3 Add.
  4. Click Create.

The Library is created and added to your Corpus Manager and to the Corpus Manager of any user you added as a member.

Notes:
  • Libraries are always added to the Corpus Manager root. You cannot add a Library into another Library.
  • By default, you are Author of this Library, but any user you added as Author in step 3 may change your role to Viewer and remove you from this Library at any time.

You can now add content to the Library. For more information, see Adding Sources.

Rename a Library

You can modify the name of any Library you are an Author of.

In Edit mode, do either of the following:

From the Name Column
  1. From the Name column, click the name of the Library you want to rename. This name turns into an editable field.
  2. Enter a new name. You can enter up to 100 characters.
  3. Click outside the field to validate.
From the Edit your library Modal Box
  1. Hover over the row of the Library you want to rename to and click Ç Edit. The Edit your library modal box opens.
  2. In the Library name field, enter a new name. You can enter up to 100 characters.
  3. Click Edit to validate.

The new name immediately appears on your Corpus Manager and on the Corpus Manager of any user who is a member of this Library.

Remove a Library

You can remove any Library you are a member of from your Corpus Manager.

Before you begin: Enter the Edit mode. For more information, see Enter the Edit Mode.
  1. If you are Author of the Library you want to remove, verify that this Library has at least one other Author:
    1. In Edit mode, hover over the row of this Library and click Ç Edit.
    2. Verify that the member list contains at least one other Author.
  • Warning: If you are the only Author, following the steps below will result in the complete deletion of the Library, even if this Library has Viewer members.
    1. Hover over the row of this Library and click O Remove.
    2. On the confirmation modal box, click Remove.

    You are no longer a member of this Library. It no longer appears on your Corpus Manager.
