Adding, Editing, and Deleting Opinions with the Opinion Bookmarklet

You can add a bookmarklet to your browser that allows you to add Opinions to any content that is external to the 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. You can then retrieve this content into Tracked Topic.

Note: You can also add, edit, and delete Opinions to articles that are displayed in Tracked Topic widgets using their Opinions command. For more information, see, Tracked Topic: Understanding and Using Opinions: Adding, Editing, and Deleting Opinions with Tracked Topic.

This task shows you how to:

Add the Opinion Bookmarklet to Your Browser
Add an Opinion with the Opinion Bookmarklet
Edit an Opinion with the Opinion Bookmarklet
Delete an Opinion with the Opinion Bookmarklet

Before you begin: Have a Platform role that allows you to do the following:

Configure Tracked Topic, Social Analytics, and Corpus Manager widgets.
Use the Opinions feature.

Add the Opinion Bookmarklet to Your Browser

From any pinned and configured Tracked Topic widget, select Menu > Edit.
From the bottom left-hand corner of the widget, drag Opinion Bookmarklet to your browser's bookmarks bar.

Add an Opinion with the Opinion Bookmarklet

Before you begin: Add the Opinion Bookmarklet to your browser. For more information, see Add the Opinion Bookmarklet to Your Browser above.

In your browser, open the page to which you want to add an Opinion.
Notes:
- Your 3DEXPERIENCE platform must have access to the network this page is hosted on.
- This page must not be password-protected.
In your bookmarks bar, click Opinion Bookmarklet.
A Corpus Manager widget opens in preview mode in a new window. It displays information about the page you were on when you clicked Opinion Bookmarklet, and the Opinion command.
Note: The purpose of this Corpus Manager widget is only to add Opinions to content that is external to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. You cannot pin this widget to your dashboard and it does not have any effect on the Corpus Manager widgets of your dashboard, if any.

Do either of the following:

Option	Steps
Create an Opinion from scratch	Click the Opinion field and either enter a new label or select a label from the list. Note: The list first displays the last three Opinions that were used on the Platform, represented by , and then displays in alphabetical order all the Opinions ever created by all the users of the Platform, represented by . From the sentiment list, click the sentiment you want to associate with your label.
Create an Opinion from an Opinion created by another user of the Platform	From the Existing section, click an Opinion that was created by another user of the Platform to reuse the label of this Opinion. Note: This section is only displayed if at least one other user of the Platform has already added an Opinion to this article. From the sentiment list, click the sentiment you want to associate with this label.

The Opinion is added. You can repeat this step to add as many Opinions as you want.

Close the Opinion Bookmarklet by either clicking p Close or Done.

Your Opinions are added to the page and this page is considered as an article that you can retrieve into your 3DEXPERIENCE Platform using Tracked Topic and Social Analytics widgets.

Important: Any other user of the platform who has a NETVIBES Dashboard Intelligence widget that displays this article also sees your Opinions.

Edit an Opinion with the Opinion Bookmarklet

You can change the sentiment of any Opinion you added to a page with the Opinion Bookmarklet.

Before you begin: Add the Opinion Bookmarklet to your browser. For more information, see Add the Opinion Bookmarklet to Your Browser above.

In your browser, open the page to which you added the Opinion you now want to edit.
In your bookmarks bar, click Opinion Bookmarklet.
A Corpus Manager widget opens in preview mode in a new window. It displays information about the page you were on when you clicked Opinion Bookmarklet, and the Opinion command.
Note: The purpose of this Corpus Manager widget is only to add Opinions to content that is external to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. You cannot pin this widget to your dashboard and it does not have any effect on the Corpus Manager widgets of your dashboard, if any.
Click the Opinion you want to edit.
Notes:
- You cannot click nor edit the Opinions that other users of the Platform added.
- The Opinion Bookmarklet only displays the Opinions that you and the other users of the Platform have added to this page using the Opinion Bookmarklet. It does not display the Opinions you added with a Feed Reader or Tracked Topic widget.
From the list, select a new sentiment.
Close the Opinion Bookmarklet by either clicking p Close or Done.

The Opinion is modified.

Delete an Opinion with the Opinion Bookmarklet

The Opinion Bookmarklet allows you to delete any Opinion you added to a page with the Opinion Bookmarklet.

Before you begin: Add the Opinion Bookmarklet to your browser. For more information, see Add the Opinion Bookmarklet to Your Browser above.

In your browser, open the page to which you added the Opinion you now want to delete.
In your bookmarks bar, click Opinion Bookmarklet.
A Corpus Manager widget opens in preview mode in a new window. It displays information about the page you were on when you clicked Opinion Bookmarklet, and the Opinion command.
Note: The purpose of this Corpus Manager widget is only to add Opinions to content that is external to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. You cannot pin this widget to your dashboard and it does not have any effect on the Corpus Manager widgets of your dashboard, if any.
On the Opinion you want to delete, click Delete.
Notes:
- You cannot click nor delete the Opinions that other users of the Platform added.
- The Opinion Bookmarklet only displays the Opinions that you and the other users of the Platform have added to this page using the Opinion Bookmarklet. It does not display the Opinions you added from the dashboard.
Warning: There is no confirmation message.
Close the Opinion Bookmarklet by either clicking p Close or Done.

The Opinion is deleted.

Note: The Opinion is only deleted from this page. All the Opinions similar to the one you deleted, that is an Opinion with both the same label and sentiment, that you added to other articles or external pages still exist.
