Instantiating a User Feature from a Catalog

You can instantiate a user feature stored in a catalog.


Before you begin:
  • You must have created a user feature.
  • To access the models used in this topic, import the Bounding_Box_Reference_000.3dxml and the Bounding_Box_Destination_000.3dxml files located in win_b64\startup\Knowledgeware\3D Templates Samples\Sample1.

How to use the Insert Object dialog box?
  1. Open the destination product.
  2. From the Tools section, click Catalog Browser .
    The Catalog Browser opens.
  3. Click More....
    The Choose a Catalog or Chapter window opens.
  4. Type the name of the catalog you are looking for and click Search.
  5. Select the catalog from the list.
    The catalog appears in the Catalog Browser window.
  6. Expand the catalog node and double-click the chapter containing the user feature that you want to instantiate.
    The Insert Object dialog box appears.
  7. Select the inputs in the 3D area and click OK when done.
    The user feature is instantiated.
    Important: The destination of the instantiation of items stored in a catalog can be:
    • A representation node
    • A geometrical feature
    • A geometrical feature set inside a representation.
