Instantiating a User Feature from a Selection

You can instantiate a user feature stored in a representation loaded in session.


Before you begin:
  • You must have created a user feature.
  • To access the models used in this topic, import the Bounding_Box_Reference_000.3dxml and the Bounding_Box_Destination_000.3dxml files located in win_b64\startup\Knowledgeware\3D Templates Samples\Sample1.

How to use the Insert Object dialog box?
  1. Open the destination and the reference product. Tile the windows vertically.
  2. If need be, from the Compass, click 3D Modeling Apps and select 3D Templates Capture.
  3. Click Instantiation from Selection in the destination product and select the user feature in the tree in the reference product.
    The Object Selection dialog box appears.
  4. Select the input in the tree, Surface.1 in our example, or in the 3D area.
  5. Click OK when you are done.
    The user feature is instantiated.
