Creating Pads
  1. Select the profile to be extruded.

  2. From the Model section of the action bar, click Pad .

The Pad Definition dialog box appears and the app previews a pad with a default dimension value.

  3. In the Type box, select Up to surface.
  4. In the Limit box, select the vertical circular face. This face belongs to the same body as the existing pad.

    The face trims the extrusion.

An Offset option is available in the dialog box.

    Tips:
    • Using the Up to surface option, you can select a face belonging to the same body as the sketch or a face belonging to Part Body.
    • You cannot use the same surface to trim both limits of a pad, even if you define an offset value for one of the limits.
  5. In the Offset box, enter -30mm as the offset value.
This offset is the distance between the surface and the top face of the pad to be created.
  6. Optional: Click Preview to see the result.
  7. Click OK.
The pad is created. The node (identified as Pad.x) is added to the tree.
