Extracting, Docking, Snapping, and Resizing Charts

You can extract, dock, snap, and resize charts to optimize the display of the data in your work area.

Extract a Chart

You can extract a chart from the side panel to a new dedicated panel that you can reposition anywhere in the work area.

  1. From the side panel, click and drag the chart you want to extract.
  2. Reposition the chart to a new location in the work area.

In the following example, the Displacement.1 - Chart #3 has been extracted from the side panel and is now floating as its own dedicated panel.

Displacement.1 - Chart #2 has not been extracted and remains in the side panel.

Dock a Chart

You can dock a chart to secure its position affixed to the edges of your work area.

  1. From the side panel, click and drag the chart you want to dock.
  2. Drag the chart away from the side panel to the edges of your work area.
    The chart docks to the edge of your work area.

Snap a Chart

You can snap chart panels together as a floating tab or, when docked, as a stack. You can snap charts in horizontal or vertical configurations.

  1. From the side panel, click and drag the chart you want to snap.
  2. Drag the chart away from the side panel to superimpose it with another extracted or docked chart.
    The chart snaps to align with a previously extracted chart. In the following example, two sensor charts are snapped as tabs.

    In this second example, two charts are snapped as a vertical stack:

Resize a Chart

You can resize or maximize a chart to expand the information for better visibility, or you can resize the chart smaller to conserve screen real estate. Closing a chart panel restores the chart to its position in the Physics Simulation tab of the side panel.

Do one of the following:
  • To resize a chart, drag the edges of the chart.
  • To maximize a chart, click in the title bar of the chart.
