This section describes the Nominal Size tables and how you can customize them.

Overview

This resource file is a discrete list of all possible nominal sizes of a part or a pipe/tube for a single standard.

It is one of the main inputs for routing pipes/tubes, querying part in the catalog during part placement, for design rules, etc.

In Data Setup, this table should be assigned to:

  • when using file-based tables, the Nominal Size item in the resource table of Piping/Tubing Discipline Resources with a Standard criteria.
  • when using Engineering Specification objects, the Nominal Size item in the resource table of Piping/Tubing Specification Resources with a Standard criteria.

Table Description

To customize the table, enter all possible nominal sizes of a part or a pipe/tube for a single standard.

The values in the table are strings. You can use any string you want, however you must use the same codification throughout all resource tables.

Important: You must create one table for each standard that you use.

File-Based Table

A typical Nominal Size file-based table is shown below:
