Geometrical Information Section

In Piping & Tubing Design, when you select a pipe or a tube, the Geometrical Information section appears. It gives information about the geometry of the selected pipe or tube. Depending on whether you are in Assembly or Reference only, different properties appear.

In Assembly

In Assembly, when you select a pipe or tube, the section displays the following properties:

Note: All the properties, except the Route Color property, are a concatenation of:
  • The Turn Rule table
  • The Minimum Straight Length table
Name Description Editable
Outside Diameter Defines the outside diameter of the selected pipe or tube.
Wall Thickness Defines the wall thickness of the selected pipe or tube.
Default Bend Radius Defines the default bend radius of the selected pipe or tube.
Minimum Straight Length Defines the minimum straight length of the selected pipe or tube.
Route Color Defines the color of the pipe or tube.

To edit the color of the selected pipe or tube using the Route Color property:

  1. Double-click the color value and then click the color rectangle to display the color picker.
  2. Click one of the available tabs.
  3. Select the color of your choice.

Reference Bend Radius Defines the reference bend radius of the selected pipe or tube.

In Reference Only

In Reference only, when you select a pipe or tube, the section displays the following properties:

Name Description Editable
Outside Diameter Defines the outside diameter of the selected pipe or tube.
Wall Thickness Defines the wall thickness of the selected pipe or tube.
Route Color Defines the color of the pipe or tube.

To edit the color of the selected pipe or tube using the Route Color property:

  1. Double-click the color value and then click the color rectangle to display the color picker.
  2. Click one of the available tabs.
  3. Select the color of your choice.
