Editing Properties of Flexible Routes

You can configure or edit various properties of a flexible route. These properties differ depending on the Build Algorithm and the Build Mode that you select.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin:
  • Open a product containing a flexible route.
  • The FLX algorithm (based on material properties) is available only if you have a CATIA Generative Fluid 3D Design role.

Edit Properties Based on Standard Algorithm

You can modify the properties of a flexible route based on the Standard algorithm.

  1. Double-click a flexible route, and then click it again.
  2. On the context toolbar that appears, click Edit Properties .
    The Flexible Route Definition dialog box appears and lets you configure the properties of the flexible route.
  3. Optional: You can specify the nominal size of the flexible route from a Flexible Pipe Reference Dimension table.
  4. Specify the dimensions for the Diameter and the Thickness.

    Notes:
    • You cannot specify dimensions for these two properties if you work with objects that come from the reference catalog.
    • The value of the Thickness has to be half the value of the Diameter.

  5. From the Build Algorithm list, select the Standard algorithm.
  6. From the Build Mode list, select a build mode.

    Based on the build mode that you select, you can modify only certain properties:

    Slack Lets you specify a value for the Slack(%).

    You can also specify a value for the Bend Radius.

    Note: A slack value of 0% amounts to the base Bend.
    Bend Lets you specify a value only for the Bend Radius.
    Length Lets you specify a value for the Total Length of the flexible route.

    You can also specify a value for the Bend Radius.

    Note: You cannot specify a Bend Radius value that is inferior to the Reference Bend Radius value.

  7. Optional: To select a new directional length from the Directional Length table:
    1. Select the Maintain straight length at end from part port option.
    2. Click Display Directional Length Table .
  8. Click OK.

Edit Properties Based on FLX Algorithm

You can modify the properties of a flexible route based on the FLX algorithm.

  1. Double-click a flexible route, and then click it again.
  2. On the context toolbar that appears, click Edit Properties .
    The Flexible Route Definition dialog box appears and lets you configure the properties of the flexible route.
  3. Optional: You can specify the nominal size of the flexible route from a Flexible Pipe Reference Dimension table.
  4. Specify the dimensions for the Diameter and the Thickness.

    Notes:
    • You cannot specify dimensions for these two properties if you work with objects that come from the reference catalog.
    • The value of the Thickness has to be half the value of the Diameter.

  5. From the Build Algorithm list, select the FLX algorithm.
  6. From the Build Mode list, select a build mode.

    Based on the build mode that you select, you can modify only certain properties:

  7. Select a value for Accuracy and Flexibility.
  8. Optional: Enter a value for Operating Temperature and Operating Pressure.
  9. Optional: To select a new directional length from the Directional Length table:
    1. Select the Maintain straight length at end from part port option.
    2. Click Display Directional Length Table .
  10. Click OK.
