Upgrading or Cleaning Route Geometry

You can upgrade a route geometry to get sub-elements selection, the one bend and straight length capabilities, and associative behavior on connected route extremities.

Before you begin: Open a product created in a previous release.
  1. From the Fluid Design section of the action bar, click Upgrade or Clean Route Geometry .
  2. Select the product or the route you want to upgrade.
  3. Select the upgrade options of your choice.
    OptionDescription
Upgrade of insulation and route for sub-geometrical element Enables the selection of sub-geometrical elements in a route.

This option is selected by default as it is a mandatory upgrade option.

New straight length behaviour on route If you select this option, you have to choose between two options:
    • Keep shape: the distance between the port and the directional point is shortened and the computed node is created at the previous location of the directional point.
    • Keep directional length: the directional length remains the same between the port and the directional point, and a computed node is created after the directional point.
    Repair pipe Repairs the route.
Remove useless nodes on straight segment Allows you to remove useless nodes on multiple routes.
Associative route end behavior Ensures that dimensions on connected route ends remain associative in drawings.

This option is selected by default.

Force up date to generate the light representation of the level of data Upgrades old data to be displayed with a light level of detail. For more information about level of detail, see Visual Quality Management.
Upgrade rigid duct thickness orientation Allows you to modify the thickness orientation of the duct. This information is retrieved in the Me > Preferences> App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Fluid Systems > HVAC 3D Design > General section, where your administrator selects the inward or outward orientation.

If you select this option, you have to choose between two options:

    • Modify attribute height and width: the geometry remains the same, but the height and width of the geometry are modified to keep the same geometry.
    • Modify geometry: the height and width of the object remain the same, but the geometry is modified inward or outward.

  4. Click OK.
A dialog box appears and lists the routes and insulations that will be upgraded.
  5. Click OK.
The affected elements are highlighted in red.
  6. Click Update All from the standard area of the action bar.
    The routes are upgraded.
