Model Version Properties Page

The Properties for a model version shows details about it.

Fields

Section Name Field Name Description
Basics Name The name of the model version.
Revision The revision level of the model version. Both model version revisions and model version derivations have a revision level.
Tags

Only appears when you have Defect Management and Collaboration installed.

The names of any tags assigned to this derivation or branch.
Type The object type:
  • Hardware product
  • Software product
  • Service product

or a subtype defined by your company.

Owner The person responsible for the model version.
Product Classification

Only shows if Services Management is installed.

The type of financial model version. You must assign a product classification before the Services Product reaches the Review state.

Option Description
Financial Product A marketing entity that can include other services and products (a bundle).
Financial Service A service performed for a customer, typically sold with other services within a product.
Financial Component Technical part composing services.
Financial Instrument Technical part composing services.

Commercial

Only shows if Services Management is installed.

Specifies whether the product will be sold commercially:

Possible Values Description
Yes The product can be sold.
No The product will not be sold.

Change Controlled

Only shows if Services Management is installed.

Specifies whether the model version is under change control:

Possible Values Description
True The release process of the Services Product is managed by Change Management. You cannot promote the Services Product to the Draft state unless it has been added to a Change Order.
False Change Management is not used to manage the release process for the Services Product.

Policy The policy that governs the model version's lifecycle. By default, the only policy is Product, but your company can define additional policies.
Derivation Details

Only shows if Derivation mode is enabled.

Derivation Type

The type of model version derivation:

Possible Values Description
Revision This model version was revised from its parent.
Derivation This model version was derived from its parent; a model version can have as many derivations as required.

Derived From The parent of this model version. If the value is Root, then this is the main model version for a model.
Derivation Level

For a hardware or service model version:

  • Main Release
  • Fix Release

For a software model version:

  • Release
  • Fix Pack
  • Hot Fix
Higher Revision Exists Specifies whether a higher revision of the model version exists.
New Derivation Exists Specifies whether a new derivation of the model version exists.
Merged From

Only appears if the model version was merged from another.

The revision levels this model version was merged from.
State State The current lifecycle state of the model version.
Active Change Exists Indicates whether there is an associated Change Action associated with this model version that is active, meaning that it is not in the On Hold, Cancelled, or Complete states:
  • Yes
  • No
Additional Information Product Line The name of the product line than includes this model version, if any.
Company The company responsible for the model version.
Model The name of the model that includes this model version.
Model Prefix The prefix associated with the model.
Design Responsibility The organization responsible for designing the model version.
Governing Project

Only shows if Project Management is installed.

The project that manages this model version.

Marketing Name The marketing name of the model version, if any.
Marketing Text The descriptive marketing text.
Base Price The base price for the model version.
Web Availability

The criteria for when the model version can be used in a product configuration:

Possible Values Description
Released Model Versions Any model version in the Released state.
Released and Effective Model Versions Only model versions in the Released state AND currently effective.
Not Available Not available for configuration.

Originator The person who created the model version.
Description The description of the model version.
Detailed Description

Only shows if Services Management is installed.

A more extensive description of the Services Product and can include custom formatting, images, and tables.

Classification Path

Only shows if IP Classification is installed.

The hierarchy of classes for the model version.
Originated The date the model version was created.
Modified The date the model version was last modified.
Top Level Part The part that represents the top-level for the model version.

Actions/Toolbar Commands

Click on the toolbar to access the Actions menu.

Edit Design Effectivity

Only available if Variant Management is installed. This action is available in an on cloud environment only after you have defined a master composition for the model.

Allows you to edit the model version's design effectivity.

Add to Portfolio Adds the model version to an existing portfolio. About Searches
Copy Creates a new model version from copying the model version. Copying a Model Version
Subscribe Allows you to subscribe to notifications of changes to the model version. Collaboration and Approvals User's Guide: Subscription Management
Collaborate with Physical

Only available if Configured BOM is installed.

Opens a window with check boxes for Model Version and Configured Logical Features and GBOMs publication.

When you click Submit, the details for the selected check boxes are published for use with native apps. If you cleared a check box, those details are unpublished from use with native apps.

Clone Model Version

Only available if you have the Services Product Manager or Services Product Developer license role and this model version is a Services Product.
