Creating a Diagram View

After creating a function or logical component to store your diagram view, you can then add a sheet and insert several views in it. If you want to use several sheets, you can store them in a layout.


Before you begin: Create a function or logical component to contain the diagram view.

In this example, we have created a logical component named Logical Diagram.

The scenario can also be performed in the functional category.

  1. Select the function or logical component that will store your view.
  2. Optional: Click Insert New Layout .
  3. Optional: In the Layout dialog box, enter a name and click Finish.
  4. Select the layout.
  5. Click Insert New Sheet .

    Tip: You can also select a function or a logical component to create a sheet with no layout.

  6. In the Sheet dialog box, enter a name and click Finish.
  7. Select the sheet.
  8. Click Insert New View .

    Tip: To create simultaneously a view and a new sheet, select a layout, a function, or a logical component.

  9. In the View dialog box, enter a name and click Finish.
  10. Click OK in the Change View Support dialog box.
  11. Double-click the view node to activate and display the view.


    Note: You can hide the red frame by clearing the Display the frames of the diagram views at creation option from the View Frames section in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Systems Architecture > Functional & Logical Design > Diagram View before creating the diagram view.     For existing diagram views, clear the Display View Frame option in the View tab of the diagram view .
