Selecting a Line ID

You can select either a logical line ID or a member of the line ID from the tree or the graphical viewer. This capability helps you to identify the members belonging to the line ID.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin: Open the piping logical system containing the line IDs and the members to be checked.

Check Members of a Logical Line ID

If you select a logical line ID, the corresponding members of the line ID are highlighted. You can identify the members of a line ID by selecting it.

  1. From the Edition section of the action bar, click Select Line ID .
  2. In the tree, select the logical line ID.

The members belonging to the selected line ID are highlighted in the 2D graph and in the tree.

Check the Logical Line ID of a Member

You can identify a line ID by selecting one of its members.

  1. From the Edition section, click Select Line ID .

    Tip: To know to which line ID an object belongs, you can also right-click the object and select Properties. In the Piping tab, the name of the line ID appears in the Line ID box.

  2. In the tree or in the 2D graph, select the member of a logical line ID.

The line ID to which the selected member belongs is highlighted in the 2D graph and in the tree.

Note: When using the Select Line ID command:
  • You can preselect the line ID or a member before clicking the Select Line ID command.
  • You can select the line ID or a member in the tree or in the 2D representation.
  • You can continue selecting the line ID or the members, the respective member, or line ID is highlighted.
  • To exit the command, click in an empty space in the work area.
