Assigning Spaces to Routes

You can assign a space to a route corresponding to the zones in which the route is routed. When the extremities of the route are in different zones, several spaces are assigned to the route. It also applies to routes with unconnected extremities or ending as sheet connectors.

Before you begin:
  • The Rule for Automatic Space Allocation resource must be set in the Diagram Resources resource set. For more information, see Define Space Reference (Schematic_ComputeSpaceToLinkLogicalEntity).
  • In Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Systems Architecture > Functional & Logical Design > Diagram View tab , select the Routes option in the Automatic Space Assignment.
  • A Creating a Schematic Zone has been created and components to be connected have been placed the diagram view.

  1. In the Edition section of the action bar, select Create New Reference .
  2. In the New Content dialog box, select a routable.
  3. In the diagram view, click the two connection points to connect the two components.
A space reference is assigned to the route. If the two components are placed in two different zones, then they are both assigned to the routes.
