Editing Risk Dates and Risk Factor Values

The risk owner and assignees can enter the start and finish dates for several risks at once. People assigned Project Lead access can also make these changes.

In addition, risk factor values such as the Impact, Probability, and Effective Date can be changed.


Before you begin: View the list of risks and risk factors. See Risks and Risk Factors Page.
  1. Click Enable Edit .

    You can click the risk name, risk factor name, or project name to see additional details.

  2. For Risks, enter and change dates for risks as required. Click to select a different date.

    Estimated Start Date or Estimated Finish Date. When creating a risk, the originator enters these dates, but they may need to be changed as the risk and assignee status changes.

    Actual Start Date. Indicates when the risk assignees began work on the risk. When an Actual Start Date is entered, the system promotes the risk to Active. Alternatively, the risk owner/assignees can promote the risk to Active and have the system automatically enter the current date for the Actual Start Date.

    Actual Finish Date. Indicates when the risk assignees completed work on the risk. When an Actual Finish Date is entered, the system promotes the risk to Complete. Alternatively, the risk owner/assignees can promote the risk to Complete and have the system automatically enter the current date for the Actual Finish Date.

  3. For risk factors, change one or more of the following values. Click to select a different date.

    Impact. An estimate of the impact the risk has on the project. The range is from 1 to 5, with 1 the lowest.

    Probability. An estimate of how likely it is that the risk will occur. The range is from 1 to 5, with 1 the lowest.

    Effective Date. The date on which the risk factor values take effect.

  4. Click Done.
