Editing the Position Matrix

In the tree view, you can modify the position of objects. If the position matrix of the object is not the identity matrix, then the icon appears in the Position Matrix column. For more information, see Product Position Mechanism.

Before you begin: To display the position matrix, click the icon.
Note: The position matrix is not available for 3D shapes.
  1. Right-click the icon.
  2. To change the value of the position matrix on the database and replace it with the identity matrix, select Reset Position .
  3. To copy a position from an object, and paste it to other objects, do as follows:
    1. Select the object from which you want to copy the position matrix, and from the context menu, click Copy Position .
    2. Select the objects where you want to paste the position matrix, and from the context menu, click Paste Position .

      Note: This command is available on any object other than the root.

The position matrix modification in Product Structure Editor is reflected in 3D Compose and vice versa.
