Modifying Curve Tangency

You can modify the tangency of a curve at its extremities or at passing points.

This task shows you how to:

Modify Curve Tangency at Extremities

You can modify the tangency of a curve at its extremities. If two curves are connected and the common extremity is selected, the curve tangency edition applies to the common extremity of the selected curve and independently from the connected curve.

  1. Right-click a curve and select Curve Edition.
  2. Select the manipulator at the desired curve extremity.

    Notes:
    • Manipulators which appear as a dotted line indicate a tangency that has not been modified. For a tangency already modified, the manipulators appear as a solid line.
    • You can change color of the constraint using the Constraint color option from the Display Constraint section in Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Digitized Shape > Photo to Shape > General. For more information, see Native Apps Preferences Guide: General.

  3. Drag the manipulators to modify the tangent direction and tension.
  4. Optional: to reset the curve tangency to its initial state, right-click the manipulator and select Reset Tangency.

    Notes:
    • You can also press Del.
    • Only 2D curves are taken into account. If you want 3D curves to be taken into account, define tangent constraint.

  5. Press Enter or click anywhere to validate.

Modify Curve Tangency at Passing Points

You can define tangency at curve passing point.

  1. Hover the pointer over the curve to display passing points.
  2. Right-click a passing point and select Tangency at Point.
