Defining a Context from an Object

You can select an object to define a context of work, displayed in the Data Information panel, with the properties of this object.


Before you begin: Open a product containing a fluidic object.
  1. From the Fluid Design section of the action bar, click Set Context From Object .
  2. Select the object from which you want to define the context.

    You can select one of the following object types:

    • Physical route
    • Physical part
    • Cableway

    You can also select the object before clicking the command in the action bar.

If you are in RFLP mode, the line ID is retrieved from the selected object to specify the context in terms of:

  • Discipline
  • System
  • Standard
  • Specification
  • Nominal Size
  • Shape
  • Route Type

If you are in a non-RFLP mode, the following properties are retrieved from the selected object:

  • Discipline
  • Standard
  • Specification
  • Nominal Size
  • Shape
  • Route Type

The Data Information panel is updated with the new properties and the properties that have been modified are highlighted in blue. For more information, see Data Information Panel.
