Deleting a Spool

You can delete a spool using the Delete Spool command.

  1. From the Fluid Design section of the action bar, select Spool Mode as process mode.
  2. From the Selection Options dialog box, select Part Selection .
    For more information about the different selection options, see Selection Options and Process Modes.
  3. In the work area, select a rigid or flexible route or a part belonging to the spool you want to delete.

    Spool information about the selected component is given in the Data dialog box under Spool Membership.

  4. On the context toolbar, select one of the following commands:
    • Delete Spool : deletes the spool with all its content.
    • Delete Spool and Move to Parent : the spool is removed and the members of the deleted spool are moved under the parent of the deleted spool. This command is available in In Manufacturing Mode.
    • Delete Preliminary Spool : the links are removed, the spool is removed and the members of the deleted spool remain in their original positions in the tree. This command is available in In Preliminary Design Mode.

    The selected spool is deleted and the tree is updated.

    Notes:
    • You can also delete spools from the context menu.
    • For spools in In Preliminary Design Mode, the links are removed, the spool is removed and the members of the deleted spool remain in their original positions in the tree.
    • For spools in In Manufacturing Mode, the spool is removed and the members of the deleted spool are moved under the parent of the deleted spool. You can also multiselect spools in the tree and use the Delete Spool and Keep Parts command in the context menu.
