Creating Rebars on Existing Bars

You can create a rebar from an existing bar using the Mesh creation mode. This mode enables you to create associativity during rebar design not only with concrete surfaces but also between rebar layers.

Before you begin:
  • Create a concrete part with a rebar object to help you organize your concrete structure.
  • Create the rebar features inside a geometrical set under a 3D shape.
  • Define the working context on the created geometrical set that will accommodate the rebar features.
Note: For more information, see Rebar Features Creation: Recommendation.

    Notes:
    • When the strap mode is turned on, you must select single bars that do not necessarily belong to the same rebar layer.
    • When the mesh mode is turned on, you must select at least two bars that belong to the same rebar layer.
  3. Select at least two bars that belong to the same rebar layer.
  4. Click Apply to update the design according to your selection.
  5. To adjust the reinforcing mesh, choose from the options available in the context bar:

Replace Replaces the current support bar by another bar.
Change Side Changes the support side of the reinforcing mesh.
Select All Selects all bars that belong to the support rebar layer (from the first bar to the last bar).
  6. Configure the rebar position, adjust parameters, configure the pattern if necessary, and modify bends and hooks.
