Attaching a File to an Output Format

You can link a file to an output format or change the file currently linked. You can use .csv, .docm, .docx, .html, .pdf, .rtf, .xlsm, .xlsx, and .xml files.

Attach an Output Format File

You can add a file to an output format created without an attached file.

  1. From the Output Formats page, click Update on the output format line.
  2. In the Checkin Files dialog box, click Browse and select a file on your disk.

    Note: Depending on the file type, this file must follow certain rules. For more information, see Output Formats.

  3. Optional: In the Comments area, enter a comment.

    Tip: Include the extension name.

The first version of the output format file is created and attached to the output format.

Modify an Output Format File

You can modify or replace the output format file attached to an output format.

  1. From the Output Formats page, click Checkout on the output format line.
    The output format file is checked out.
  2. Click Checkin.
  3. In the Update Files dialog box, click Browse and select the file on your disk.

    Note: Depending on the file type, this file must follow certain rules. For more information, see Output Formats.

  4. In the Comments area, enter a comment.

The attached output format file is replaced and the output format file version increments.
