Creating a Report

You can create a report from an existing template, an existing output format, and data. This data corresponds to the template parameters.

Note: You can also create a report in Service Process Structure or in System Finder. For more information, see Social and Collaborative: Product Development - Model Based: System Finder: Generating Reports: Creating a Report.

About Reports
  1. From the Reports page, click Actions > Create Report .
  2. In the Step 1 of 3: Specify Details form, enter:
    1. A name. For more information, see Rules for Naming and Search.
    2. Optional: A title and a description.
  3. To select a template and an output format:
    1. Optional: In the corresponding field, enter a search pattern to narrow down the search results.
    2. Click , select an object in the Search page, and click OK.

    The selected name appears in the corresponding field.

    Tip: To remove the selection, click Clear.
  4. Optional: To select a target document instead of the default one, see Step 3.
  5. Click Next.
    Note: If the selected template requires parameters, the corresponding parameters fields appear in the Step 2 of 3: Specify Inputs form.
  6. To define or select an object for each defined parameter:
    1. Optional: In each parameter field of the Step 2 of 3: Specify Inputs form, enter a string or a search pattern to narrow down the parameter search results.
    2. Optional: Click , select an object in the Search page, and click OK.

    Note: If the cardinality of the parameter is multiple, you can select several objects or optionally you can skip the selection.

    The selected objects names appear in the corresponding field.

    Tip: To remove the selection, click Clear.
  7. Optional: Click Configuration Filters.
    Note: If at least one type of input parameter has associated predefined configurations or product configurations, a Configuration Filters field appears in the Step 3 of 3: Specify Configurations form.
  8. Optional: In the Configuration Filters field, select a filter or No Configuration Filter.

A new report is added to the Reports page.

Important: If parameters are added to the template after the report creation, edit the report to select data corresponding to these parameters.
