Exporting a Specification to Microsoft Word

You can export a requirement specification from Traceable Requirements Management via XML to Microsoft Word to create copy that can be viewed and printed off-line.

Important: This app creates reports or generates content that contains personal data. Manage these in accordance with good personal data treatment practices.

Required responsibilities:

  • Baseline: Leader (when the object is in the Frozen state) or Author

Before you begin: View the specification that you want to export to Microsoft Word. See Specification Detail Page.
  1. From the toolbar, select Export to Word .
  2. Select what part of the requirement specification that you want to export:
    • Whole Structure: Exports the entire requirement specification structure (except for parameters and test cases), regardless of what is currently displayed.
    • Displayed Items: Exports only the part of the requirement specification that is currently displayed.
  3. Click Done.
    Your browser saves the file to your local computer. If asked whether you want to save the file, click Save File or Yes, depending on your browser's dialog box options.
  4. Open the downloaded specification in Microsoft Word.
