Simulations and Folders

To help you keep your simulation data organized, you can create folders and insert simulations into folders. Folders are VPM objects. For example, you could create a folder and insert several instances of the same simulation to store various configurations and compare them.

The following actions are available when working with simulations in folders:

Insert a simulation in a folder

You can create a folder and insert a simulation into a folder in a Folder Editor window. To create a root folder, select New > Folder > Folder Root from the Add menu in the top bar. To create a subfolder, select a root folder, and select Insert > Insert New Folder. To insert a simulation, select a subfolder and select Insert Existing Reference. See Creating Bookmark Structure and Inserting Existing Reference for more information.

Expand a simulation within a folder

Simulations inserted in folders are not expanded in the tree by default. To expand a simulation within a folder, select Me > My Preferences > Options > PLM Access > Folderfrom the menu in the top bar, and toggle on Enable references expand . See Engineering Folder for more information.

Remove a simulation from a folder

To remove a simulation from a folder, right-click a simulation in the folder, and select Remove Item.
