Creating a Legacy Ambience

You can create legacy ambiences, and customize their parameters.

This task shows you how to:

Create a Legacy Ambience from a Map

You can create a legacy ambience from a preset HDR map, or from a map in a user collection.

From the Rendering Scene Design section of the action bar, click Manage Ambience .
In the Library panel, right-click the appropriate map in the Favorites, 360° HDR Images, or User Collections area, and then click Insert into product.

A new image thumbnail is created in the Product Ambiences panel, and the ambience is automatically activated. An "Ambience Representation" node is also created in the tree.

Legacy ambiences are identified by the symbol.

The ambience parameters are initialized with the default parameters of the chosen map, but you can locally overload them through the ambience panel.

You can create a legacy ambience directly from a backplate.

From the Rendering Scene Design section of the action bar, click Manage Ambience .
In the Library panel, select Backplates in the list.
Right-click a backplate, and then click Insert into product.
- If the backplate is a preset with an associated HDR, then an ambience is created with this HDR and its default parameters. The backplate is associated with the created ambience.
- If the backplate is a preset with no associated HDR, or a backplate from a user collection, then a new color ambience is created. It has a gray background and one HDR Light. The backplate is associated with the created ambience.

You can create a new ambience based on the data model of a legacy ambience.

From the Rendering Scene Design section of the action bar, click Insert Ambience as Copy .
Search for the ambience you want to insert.
