Using OnePart in CATIA

This section details how to use NETVIBES OnePart in CATIA.

Workflow

To use OnePart in CATIA 3DEXPERIENCE you must:

Setup the OnePart shape search - see Setting up OnePart in CATIA in OnePart Installation Guide
Search for parts by shape, section hole pattern similarity - Search for parts with OnePart.
Insert or open part your CATIA product - Insert or open part in CATIA with OnePart.

Search for parts with OnePart

You can search for parts by shape or hole pattern similarity with OnePart as follows.

Select OnePart Search from the search box. This activates the OnePart shape search.
Click on the magnifying class.

OnePart displays all the parts, products and drawings indexed from your ENOVIA files.
OR select a part directly in the product tree or in 3D to search either by:
- Section similarity:
  - if no section is found, the button is grayed-out
  - section is computed only along main axis (x,y,z)
  - only one section per axis can be detected (max 3 sections/part).
- Hole pattern similarity (if the current hole pattern isn't exactly what you're looking for, you can select and move a whole axis for a precise hole pattern search)
- Shape similarity
OnePart displays the similar parts in the search results panel.
You can click on other parts to continue searching.
Click on a thumbnail image to view the complete details. Click the tag icon to expand the OnePart facet filtering pane on the left.

Insert or open part in CATIA with OnePart

You can insert a part in your CATIA product with OnePart. You can also open a part either in CATIA or in 3DSpace. Note that you can only open parts located on your ENOVIA server.

Once you have found the similar part you want to use, select the product in your tree where you want to insert.
You can click on the insert or open button directly from the search results.

By default OnePart will insert the part at the current location in the product tree or you can choose a different product in the tree as shown below.
Or click the Insert button to insert the part in your product as shown below.

OnePart inserts the new part in the tree location selected.
Or open the part. Either:
- Click Open to Explore in CATIA - this opens the part in a new CATIA window.
- Click Open in source to open in 3DSpace.
