Frequency extraction analysis for substructures.

Problem description

The substructures defined in each generation file are identical, each consisting of 10 B21 beam elements. In each case one of the substructure's ends is fixed. In addition, in the file psupfre2_gen1.inp a local coordinate system is defined for all nodes, and in the file psupfre3_gen1.inp the substructure is rotated by 90° using the substructure property definition.

Results and discussion

The results from the substructure analysis match the results that are obtained when the substructures are not used.

psupfre1.inp: B21 elements.
psupfre1_gen1.inp: Substructure generation file referenced in the analysis psupfre1.inp.
psupfre2.inp: B21 elements; a local coordinate system is defined for all nodes using the TRANSFORM option.
psupfre2_gen1.inp: Substructure generation file referenced in the analysis psupfre2.inp.
psupfre3.inp: B21 elements; the substructure is rotated using the SUBSTRUCTURE PROPERTY option.
psupfre3_gen1.inp: Substructure generation file referenced in the analysis psupfre3.inp.
