Symbol Design and Functional & Logical DesignThe Symbol Design's purpose is to edit symbols that can be used in a diagram view within the Functional & Logical Design. Diagram View StructureA diagram view is always created in a sheet. You can attach this sheet to:
Symbols are placed and routed in a diagram view. However, they do not appear in the tree under the View node. You can place functional and logical components in the same diagram view. Symbol Representation and Symbol ObjectIn a function or logical component, you can insert a symbol representation. In this symbol representation, a symbol object contains the symbol display (text, geometry...). The functional/logical ports are displayed on symbols and you can use them to create routes. Functional/Logical Symbol RepresentationA functional or logical symbol representation contains one or more symbol objects. Such representation is aggregated to a functional or logical reference. You can add symbols through Symbol Design then manage the default display in Functional & Logical Design or Systems Architecture Design. For more information about the management of symbols, see Managing a Symbol with Symbol Design in the Symbol Design User's Guide. Symbol ObjectA symbol object is a feature with generic attributes: position, orientation, scale and flip. A symbol is composed of geometry, annotations, pictures... You can predefine connection points. You can edit symbol objects through the Symbol Design but can also be modified once instantiated in a diagram view, using Drafting commands. Color Applied to SymbolsThe symbols' color is customized to be visible whatever background color you work with. For example, if you work with a white background, the symbols are displayed in black. And if you modify it for a blue background, the symbols are displayed in white. Background Color Applied to the Diagram ViewThe default ambience for the diagram view is White Mirror. Even if another ambience is defined, the diagram view always displays the White Mirror ambience when you open it. To define another default background color for the diagram view, define the desired color in the Sheet Formats node of the Drafting standards. For more information, see the Drafting User's Guide > Administration > Setting Standard Parameters > General Parameters. |
