Design Tools Page

The Design Tools page lists the tools available for the tool suite.

Required access roles:

  • App-specific: Defect Engineer
  • Baseline: Owner, Leader, or a user with Review and Approve (RWA) license

To access this page:

  1. Open the required tool suite. See Opening a Tool Suite.
  2. In the navigation pane, click Tools.

This page discusses:

Columns

Column NameDescription
NameName of the design tool. Click to view the Properties page for the design tool.
Display StringA brief text description. This text shows when selecting a tool to invoke.
DescriptionDescription of the design tool.
Program NameThe command that launches the tool.
ArgumentsThe arguments to pass to the program.
Is GraphicalYes if the tool has a graphical interface.

No if the tool has a command line interface.

Starting DirThe directory to set as the current working directory (cwd) for the tool when it starts. This starting directory overrides the starting directory defined for the tool suite. Users can specify a different starting directory when they connect to their development area.
Opens the properties page for the design tool in a new window.

Add Existing Searches for and adds an existing design tool to the context tool suite.-
Remove Removes the selected design tool from this tool suite. Click OK to confirm. -
Delete Deletes the selected design tool. Click OK to confirm.

If this design tool is used by other tool suites, it is removed from all suites, then deleted.
