Creating a Hierarchical Reference

You can create a hierarchical reference to a model version revision to manually add it to the model version hierarchy.

Required access roles:

  • App-specific: Defect Engineer
  • Baseline: Owner

Before you begin: Open the Model Version Hierarchy page for the model version. See Model Version Hierarchy Page.

About Model Version Revision Hierarchies
  1. Select a model version.
  2. From the toolbar, select Actions > Create Hierarchical Reference .
  3. Enter these details:

    Field NameDescription
    To Model Version RevisionStart typing the name of a model version revision or click to select a model version revision.
    TagSelect the name of an existing tag associated with the selected model version revision from the list or select Specify a new tag... to type the name of a new tag in the field below the list.
    Comment for New TagEnter a comment to be associated with the new tag that you typed in the field.
    Relative PathType the relative path that indicates where the data for the sub-module is placed on disk, relative to the parent module, when the data is fetched from the DesignSync vault.

  4. Click Done.
